Harry Forrester's opening goal was cancelled out by Iain Russell's penalty but Michael O'Halloran, Andy Halliday and James Tavernier had Rangers 4-1 ahead before Gary Oliver and Mark Millar reduced the deficit.

Second-placed Falkirk went down 2-1 at home to a Livingston team who are now only two points behind Dumbarton at the other end of the table. Jordan White and Sam Stanton scored for Livi, who had Jackson Longridge sent off after Will Vaulks had pulled one back in stoppage time.

Raith Rovers are all but guaranteed a play-off place after beating Morton 1-0 at Cappielow with a goal from James Craigen early in the second half.

Alloa are on the brink of relegation after losing 1-0 to St Mirren at the Indodrill Stadium, with Keith Watson netting a late winner for Saints.
