One potential candidate for the vacant manager’s job at Morton has ruled himself out of the running. Former Greenock player Brian Reid has turned down the opportunity to discuss the job further as he has just moved to England where the former Ayr boss has taken over as manager of Nuneaton Town.
Reid is not willing to walk out of the Conference Premier side after waiting two years for his chance in England.
The 43-year-old said: “I have been interested in the Morton job in the past but I am not interested at this time. I have waited for a long time to get a chance down south and I am not going to walk out on it after a month.”
“The Conference is a decent league and on a par at least with League 1 in Scotland so I am happy to stay where I am.”
