Reserve Cup round-up

The group stage of the SPFL Reserve Cup kicked off this week, with six matches over Monday and Tuesday.

Craig Wighton grabbed the winner as Hearts beat Hibernian 2-1 in the Edinburgh derby in Group C at Oriam after Fraser Murray had cancelled out Danny Amankwaa's opening goal.

Also in Group C, Greg Kiltie, Dom Thomas and Rory McKenzie got the goals as Kilmarnock beat Partick Thistle 3-1 at Rugby Park. Hamilton Accies defeated St Mirren 2-0 in Group A with goals from Jack Breen and Kyle Munro.

Ross County beat Falkirk on penalties after it finished 1-1 in Group B after 90 minutes at The Falkirk Stadium. Dylan Mackin opened the scoring for the Bairns but Tom Kelly equalised and the Staggies won the shoot-out 4-3.

In Tuesday's games, Matthew Smith scored the winner as Dundee United beat St Johnstone 2-1 at St Andrews University in Group A and Connor Sammon sealed a 3-1 victory for Motherwell over Dundee at Forthbank in Group D.

In Reserve League 2, Livingston thrashed Stirling Albion 7-1 at the Tony Macaroni Arena and Berwick Rangers were 4-0 winners away to Raith Rovers. Airdrieonians beat East Kilbride 4-0 on Monday and Queen's Park play Ayr United at Lesser Hampden tonight.
