Former Spider turns out for Diamonds

Owen Ronald in action for Queen's Park Winger Owen Ronald who was released from Queen’s Park last week has followed in the footsteps of his father Paul by playing for a second team that he played for.

The 19-year-old, who was voted as the IRN-BRU SFL’s Young Player of the Month just 9 months ago, asked to be released by the Spiders after not starting recently and he played as a trialist for Airdrie United in their First Division game with Falkirk on Saturday as well as the Hamilton Accies game on Boxing Day.

Ronald senior played for both Airdrieonians and Airdrie United during 2000 to 2004, as well as bringing the curtain down on his playing career with a spell at Hampden in 2009.
