Stenhousemuir trial game – date change

A change in Stenhousemuir manager John Coughlin’s holiday plans has seen the one-off trial match at Ochilview to find new players for the club’s under-19 side brought forward a day.

The Warriors have been asking youngsters to send in their details in order that they can organise two eleven a side teams, one managed by assistant manager Matt Kerr and one managed by Head of Youth Graeme Robertson, to play each other with Coughlin casting his eye over the players involved.

The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, June 19 however it will now take place on the evening of Friday, June 18.

Clyde make it six

Recently installed Clyde boss Stuart Millar made his sixth signing of the close season when he brought midfielder John Sweeney to the club from Glasgow Junior side Pollok.

The 22 year old joined the Newlandsfield club in December 2008 from Knightswood Juveniles and he joins goalkeeper JC Hutchison, defenders Murray Henderson and Graham Girvan along with midfielder Hadyn Cochrane and striker Marc McCusker as new faces in the Broadwood dressing room.

Sweeney said, “I am delighted to be turning senior with Clyde and as soon as I got the call I was delighted to come here.”

Diamonds visit Galabank

Airdrie United are to travel to Galabank for a pre-season friendly on Sunday, July 18 with a 3.00pm kick off.

East Fife pre-season games announced

East Fife have announced details of their pre-season training programme that begins with a trip to face Selkirk on Saturday, July 10. The Fifers then face manager Stevie Crawford’s former club, Dunfermline who are sending an XI over to New Bayview on Tuesday, July 13.

A Hearts XI visit on Saturday, July 17, with a Dundee United XI travelling to Fife on the evening of Tuesday, July 20.

Five make step up at Kirkcaldy
