Albion Rovers’ William Hill Scottish Cup run has seen manager James Ward inundated with CVs from players across the world looking to join the League 2 club.
The Coatbridge side face Rangers at Ibrox on March 9 in their first quarter-final in 80 years and agents have been busy sending applications to Ward, although the chances of any new faces being recruited are thin.
Ward said: “I have had contact from Africa and America, as well as Europe, about players who all of a sudden want to play for Albion Rovers. I had one player offering to pay for flights from France and accommodation for a chance to play with us.
“However, when it was explained what we pay and that we are a part-time side I don't think he was quite so keen!”
One Norwegian player who got in touch may get an opportunity to impress, with Ward saying: “A player with a decent CV from Norway is over in Glasgow studying just now and we will have a look at him.
"A part-time player who is a student is much more in line with the Rovers way than us bringing in a player from South America!"
