Albion Rovers manager James Ward is hoping to include former St Mirren and Dumbarton winger Mark Lamont in their next two League 2 matches.
Lamont played as a trialist when a makeshift Rovers side lost 4-0 to Queen’s Park last weekend but dropped out of things on Monday night when Rangers won through to the Scottish Cup semi-finals with a 2-0 replay success due to competition rules.
The 21-year-old will train with Ward and his players tonight and could feature against Elgin City on Saturday and Annan next Tuesday as Rovers look to get back into the promotion chase.
Ward said: “Mark left Dumbarton last year and has not played a lot of football since. He got game time against Queen’s Park and I am keen to involve him more.
“He can play in two more games as a trialist and hopefully we can use him in what is a really important time in our season. Our next two games are just as important as the Rangers cup ties were.”
