The majority of SPFL clubs were involved in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup but there were also three matches in League 2

Stenhousemuir forced a Scottish Cup round-four replay with Aberdeen after earning a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie thanks to an equaliser from Mark McGuigan but there were no issues for holders Celtic, who saw off Airdrieonians 3-0 in the evening game.

St Johnstone beat Hamilton Accies 2-0 in an all-Premiership tie at McDiarmid Park and Kilmarnock were too strong for League 1 Forfar Athletic, winning 2-0 at Rugby Park. St Mirren stormed back to defeat Alloa Athletic 3-2 in Paisley but Motherwell went down 2-1 to Ross County at Fir Park.

Lewis Vaughan hit a hat-trick as League 1 Raith Rovers defeated Dunfermline Athletic 3-0 in the Fife derby at Stark’s Park while Partick Thistle beat Stranraer 4-1 at the Energy Check Stadium at Firhill. Dundee and Queen of the South drew 1-1 and will try again at Palmerston.

Hibernian brushed aside Elgin City 4-0 at Easter Road and it was also 4-0 for Dundee United at Montrose and for Inverness CT against Lowland League leaders East Kilbride. East Fife came from behind to beat Morton 2-1 at Bayview while Ayr United suffered a shock exit, losing 1-0 away to Auchinleck Talbot. 

Hearts beat Livingston 1-0 at Tynecastle on Sunday thanks to Sean Clare's first goal for the club.

Peterhead have moved to the top of Ladbrokes League 2 after a 2-0 win over Berwick Rangers at Balmoor while Edinburgh City were knocked off top spot following a 2-1 home defeat to Annan Athletic. Stirling Albion and Queen’s Park drew 1-1 at Forthbank.
