Saturday review

Round-up of today's games across all four divisions of the SPFL...

Rangers closed the gap on Ladbrokes Premiership leaders Celtic to a single point with a 5-0 thrashing of Aberdeen at Ibrox, with the reigning champions having been held to a 1-1 draw by Hibernian at Easter Road earlier in the day. Motherwell are up to third place after a 1-0 victory at bottom club St Johnstone while Hamilton Accies moved level on points with Livingston after beating them 2-1 in Lanarkshire. There were 0-0 draws between Kilmarnock and Ross County at Rugby Park and St Mirren and Hearts at the Simple Digital Arena.

Dundee United hammered Morton 6-0 at Tannadice, helped by a hat-trick from SPFL top scorer Lawrence Shankland, to stay top of the Ladbrokes Championship on goal difference from Ayr United, who were 3-0 winners at Arbroath. Third-placed Inverness CT went down 3-1 at home to Partick Thistle, who move off the bottom at the expense of Alloa Athletic – the Wasps drew 1-1 with Dunfermline Athletic at East End Park.

Raith Rovers came from behind to beat Forfar Athletic 2-1 at Station Park and move two points clear in Ladbrokes League 1 after closest challengers East Fife and Falkirk drew 0-0 at the Falkirk Stadium. Clyde moved into the play-off places thanks to a 2-1 win at Dumbarton and bottom club Montrose edged out Peterhead 4-3 at Links Park to earn their first victory. Airdrieonians rallied to draw 2-2 with Stranraer at the Penny Cars Stadium in the day's other game.

It's as you were in Ladbrokes League 2 after the leading trio all won. Cove Rangers saw off Annan Athletic 3-0 at the Balmoral Stadium to stay three points ahead of Edinburgh City, who defeated Queen's Park 2-1 at Ainslie Park. Third-placed Cowdenbeath made it five straight wins by beating Albion Rovers 1-0 at Central Park while Brechin City are off the bottom thanks to a 2-1 home victory against Elgin City. Stirling Albion slip to the foot of the table following their 1-1 draw with Stenhousemuir at Forthbank.
