Dundee United moved three points clear in the Ladbrokes Championship by beating Dunfermline Athletic 2-0 at Tannadice. Second-placed Ayr United lost 2-1 at home to Dundee on Friday night and Inverness CT, in third, went down 2-1 to Morton at Cappielow. Arbroath are just a point outside the top four after beating bottom club Partick Thistle 3-1 at Firhill while Alloa Athletic came back to draw 2-2 with Queen of the South at the Indodrill Stadium.
Raith Rovers stay top of Ladbrokes League 1 on goal difference after a 1-1 draw with unbeaten East Fife at Stark's Park. Third-placed Falkirk were beaten 1-0 by Clyde at the Falkirk Stadium and Airdrieonians are fourth after their 4-1 victory over Forfar Athletic at Station Park. Dumbarton beat Peterhead 1-0 at the C&G Systems Stadium while Montrose racked up their fourth straight win with a 2-1 success against bottom club Stranraer at Links Park.
There was only one game in Ladbrokes League 2 because of Scottish Cup ties and Elgin City climbed into the play-off places by beating Queen's Park 3-1 at Borough Briggs.
