It was a good day for the home clubs in the Scottish Championship, with four wins out of four. Promoted Raith Rovers saw off Arbroath 3-0 at Stark's Park, with all the goals coming in the first half. Dunfermline Athletic hit back to defeat Inverness CT 3-1 at East End Park and Michael Miller's early double helped Ayr United beat Queen of the South 2-1 at Somerset Park. Morton edged out Alloa Athletic 1-0 at Cappielow.
Falkirk scored twice in the closing stages to beat Montrose 3-1 at Links Park on the opening day in Scottish League 1 but Partick Thistle went down 1-0 to Clyde at Broadwood. Promoted Cove Rangers saw off East Fife 3-1 at Balmoral Stadium and Airdrieonians overcame Peterhead 2-0 at the Penny Cars Stadium. Forfar Athletic and Dumbarton drew 0-0 at Station Park.
It was an opening day of big away wins in Scottish League 2, with the exception being the 0-0 draw between Stirling Albion and Queen's Park at Forthbank. Edinburgh City thumped Brechin City 5-1 at Glebe Park and Elgin City dismissed Stranraer 4-1 at Stair Park. Annan Athletic beat Cowdenbeath 3-0 in a game played at Bayview and Stenhousemuir triumphed 3-1 over Albion Rovers at the Reigart Stadium.
