Motherwell saw off Ross County 4-0 at Fir Park and it was 0-0 between St Johnstone and Dundee United at McDiarmid Park. St Mirren v Hamilton Accies was postponed. On Sunday, Aberdeen host Celtic and Rangers face Livingston.

Raith Rovers are top of the Scottish Championship on goal difference after thumping Queen of the South 5-2 at Palmerston. Dunfermline Athletic are second thanks to their 4-1 win away to Alloa Athletic, with Kevin O'Hara scoring a hat-trick against his former club. Hearts also have maximum points after winning 1-0 at Arbroath on Friday while Dundee defeated Morton 1-0 at Dens Park. Inverness CT and Ayr United drew 1-1 in the Highland capital.

Cove Rangers are two points clear in Scottish League 1 following their 2-0 victory at Peterhead. Partick Thistle hit back to beat Airdrieonians 2-1 at Firhill while Falkirk were held to a 1-1 draw by Forfar Athletic. East Fife and Montrose drew 2-2 at Bayview and Dumbarton v Clyde was postponed.

Elgin City are the early pacesetters in Scottish League 2 after a 3-0 home win over bottom club Brechin City. Queen's Park saw off Albion Rovers 2-0 at Hampden and Cowdenbeath won 1-0 away to Edinburgh City. Stenhousemuir and Stirling Albion drew 2-2 at Ochilview and it was 1-1 between Annan Athletic and Stranraer at Galabank.
