Round-up of today's games in the SPFL...

Hibernian strengthened their grip on third place in the Scottish Premiership thanks to a 2-0 win over Aberdeen at Easter Road. Martin Boyle scored both goals, one a penalty, as Hibs moved five points clear of the Dons.

Second-placed Celtic beat Motherwell 2-1 at Celtic Park thanks to goals from Stephen Welsh and Odsonne Edouard before Allan Campbell pulled one back. 

St Johnstone ended Livingston’s 14-match unbeaten run with a 2-1 win at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Scott Tanser and Shaun Rooney scored for Saints but Scott Pitt Pittman reduced the deficit in the meeting of the Betfred Cup finalists.

St Mirren remain on course for a top-six finish after beating Kilmarnock 2-0 at the SMISA Stadium. Kyle McAllister and Jon Obika netted for Jim Goodwin's men.

Dundee United claimed an important victory, overcoming Ross County 2-0 in Dingwall with second-half goals from Lawrence Shankland and Ryan Edwards.

In the Scottish Championship, Hearts are 12 points clear at the top of the table after beating Ayr United 1-0 at Somerset Park on Friday night with a Liam Boyce penalty. 

Raith Rovers are in second spot after Iain Davidson scored in a 1-0 success at Morton but Dunfermline Athletic went down 2-0 to Arbroath at Gayfield, with Thomas O'Brien and Dale Hilson on target for the Red Lichties.

Alloa Athletic hit back to beat Queen of the South 2-1 at the Indodrill Stadium but Dundee v Inverness CT was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
