Hamilton Accies are now just two points adrift at the bottom of the table following their 2-1 win away to St Mirren.
In the top six, Aberdeen closed the gap on third-placed Hibernian to three points with a 2-1 victory at Livingston while Hibs went down 1-0 to St Johnstone at Easter Road. Champions Rangers take on Celtic at Ibrox on Sunday, live on Sky Sports at 12 noon.
Forfar Athletic have been relegated from Scottish League 1 despite their 2-1 win away to Peterhead. Clyde beat Dumbarton 2-0 at Broadwood to leave the Sons in the relegation play-off place. In the top half, Airdrieonians defeated Cove Rangers 2-0 at Balmoral Stadium and Montrose kept their play-off hopes alive with a 2-1 success at Falkirk.
Edinburgh City sealed a promotion play-off spot in Scottish League 2 with a 2-0 win over Elgin City at Ainslie Park but the other places are still up for grabs following a 2-2 draw between Stirling Albion and Stranraer at Forthbank. In the bottom half, it was 1-1 between Albion Rovers and Brechin City at the Reigart Stadium and also Annan Athletic and Cowdenbeath at Galabank.
