Celtic have won the trophy a record 34 times. Their most recent success was a 1-0 win against Dunfermline in 2007 when Jean-Joel Perrier Doumbe scored the only goal.

Motherwell have twice lifted the Scottish Cup. They thrashed Dundee 4-0 in 1952 and famously overcame Dundee United 4-3 after extra time in a thrilling final in 1991 under Tommy McLean.
