Nathan Shepherd will make his final appearance for East Stirlingshire against Stirling Albion on January 2 before moving to live and work in Australia.
The 24-year-old winger has been with the club since 2012, overcoming a number of injury problems to become an ever-present in the team this season.
Boss Craig Tully told the Shire website: "It was a bolt from the blue when he told us and it leaves us short of one of our most consistent players but it is a fantastic opportunity for him."
