East Stirlingshire’s U20 side have been praised by head coach Craig Tully after remaining top of the nine-team Development League East with a 2-0 win over Berwick Rangers on Monday night.
Tully’s youngsters have won four and drawn one of their five games so far this season, with the Shire boss saying: “As a club we made the decision to grow our youth programme during the summer and that the players there should be the first ones I look at for the first team.
“These guys are delivering and are really pushing themselves into my plans. They have made a great start to the season but, more importantly, are giving me options. They are also showing that the vision the club showed was correct.”
