East Stirlingshire’s 17-year-old defender Jordan Tapping, who is the cousin of Hearts star Callum, has done enough in just three starts and three substitute appearances to convince head coach John Coughlin to give him a new deal until the end of next season.

Coughlin said: “Jordan has progressed well through our reserve team and we are delighted that he has committed himself to the club for another season.

“He is young but he will learn from playing alongside the experience of Chris Townsley and Michael Bolochoweckyj, who are also signed up for next season.”
