Queen of the South have parted company with manager Gavin Skelton in the wake of Saturday's 4-1 home defeat to Dundee United.
The former Workington boss had only been in charge for six months, after taking over from James Fowler in May. The Ladbrokes Championship club made an outstanding start to the season but four straight defeats have seen them slip to sixth in the table.
Football Development Manager Jim Thomson has been appointed caretaker boss of the Dumfries side, whose next game is at home to Alloa Athletic in the IRN-BRU Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.
A club statement issued on Monday evening read: "The club can confirm that Gavin Skelton has today left his position as manager for personal reasons. We wish him the best of luck for the future. Jim Thomson will take over as caretaker on a temporary basis until a permanent replacement is appointed."
