Alloa manager Barry Smith ran the rule over midfielder Steven Hetherington in his side’s 1-0 friendly win over Montrose on Tuesday night.
The 21-year-old started his career at Hartlepool before heading north to Ibrox for two seasons in 2009. He then moved on to Motherwell, where he played three times for their first team, as well as enjoying a loan spell at Airdrie.
Hetherington was released last summer and spent some of last season playing for Celtic Nation and Crook Town after a trial period at Crystal Palace was unsuccessful.
