Dumbarton manager Stevie Aitken has signed defender Steven Saunders on a short-term deal until January.
The 24-year-old began his career with Motherwell and was capped for Scotland during his time at Fir Park. He moved to Ross County in the summer of 2013 but was released by the Staggies at the end of season 2014/15.
Aitken, whose side host Livingston in the Ladbrokes Championship this weekend, told the club website: "He's a player I wanted to bring to the club when I first joined as manager.
"With Scott Taggart likely to be out for a while, and with Stevie still available, timing is right to bring him on board."
