Queen’s Park midfielder David Anderson has disappointed a growing number of clubs chasing his signature by advising he wants to prove his fitness before deciding his future.
The 31-year-old, who was voted Third Division Player of the Year in 2012/13, was hotly tipped to be leaving the Spiders with clubs in both League 1 and 2 looking to speak to him.
However, Anderson wants to overcome an ankle injury before committing to any club, with a future at Queen's Park still a possibility.
Head coach Gus MacPherson said: “David does not want to sign for anyone when he is not 100% right. That is not a surprise to us – that is the type of person he is and he should be admired for it.
“We know that there is considerable interest in him but, out of the respect he has for the club, he came in and had a chat with me about things.
“David is very much part of the Queen’s Park family and we will keep a place for him should he feel he is ready to give things a go after resting over the summer.”
