Speirs thanks McBride

Queen's Park Head Coach pays tribute to departing midfielder

Martin McBrideQueen’s Park head coach Gardner Speirs has praised midfielder Martin McBride despite the 25 year old turning down the chance to stay on at Hampden to sign for Second Division Dumbarton.

Speirs said, “Martin called me at the weekend to say he was taking the chance to join Dumbarton and I wish him well there. He has been terrific for us during his two years at the club where he played a lot of games and was a real favourite with his playing colleagues and our fans.”

McBride is the only member of last season’s squad that reached the Promotion Play-Offs to move on with Speirs now only waiting to hear from club captain Richard Sinclair about his future.
