Winger Willie Gibson has been outstanding for Stranraer this season, helping Stephen Aitken’s side finish second in League 1.
The Blues suffered a play-off blow on Wednesday with a 3-0 defeat at Forfar and are looking to stage a remarkable comeback at Stair Park on Saturday.
What is the best goal you have scored?
I scored a volley for Queen of the South in a Scottish Cup tie against Montrose a few years ago that was a bit special but I have to pick my recent goal for Stranraer against Airdrie at Stair Park. The game was goalless with only a few minutes left and I broke up the park from the halfway line and beat a couple of their players before cutting in and hitting home a fine shot from outside of the box.
What is the best game you have played in?
That was an FA Cup tie for Crawley Town against Manchester United at Old Trafford. There were 76,000 fans there and, having grown up as a Manchester United supporter, it was a dream to share a pitch with Wayne Rooney and Chicharito. It was only my fourth game for Crawley and it was a terrific experience.
What is your favourite away ground?
Old Trafford! In Scotland I always enjoyed playing at Celtic Park, Ibrox and Pittodrie when I was with Kilmarnock and I will opt for Celtic Park as that had the best atmosphere.
What is your favourite other sport?
Golf – although I am not as big into it as I used to be due to family commitments. I had my handicap down to two at one time and perhaps once the play-offs are out of the way I may be able to squeeze in a round.
Which player in the world would you like to have played with?
David Beckham, who is an idol of mine, and a great role model for the game. He has had a fantastic career both on and off the park and should be what all footballers aspire to be. I have tried a few shots from the halfway line like him - in fact I did it against Brechin last Saturday - but I have not scored yet.
What is your favourite pre-match meal?
The manager usually organises for us to have a pre-match meal of fish or chicken before home games but I do not like to eat too much. I prefer to have some poached eggs on toast.
What is your favourite music?
I am not into music at all. Training and playing for Stranraer involves a lot of driving for me but I just listen to what is on the radio. A lot of the lads like dance music and Grant Gallagher plays that in the dressing room to get the boys going before a game.
Who is the biggest moaner you have played with?
Frank McKeown, who continues to moan even if you are having a good game!
Who is your most skilful team-mate?
There have been a few - I enjoyed playing with Joe Cardle at Dunfermline when I was on one wing and he was on the other. He is full of tricks and flicks. Stephen Stirling is probably the most skilful at Stranraer and Sergio Torres at Crawley was decent as well. Danny Carmichael was a bit special when he was breaking through at Queen of the South.
Who is your worst dressed team-mate?
It is hard to say as most of the Stranraer boys wear training kit or the suit that the club got them. Scott Robertson and Steven Bell are right into their Bee-Inspired T-shirts and look like a couple of rascals in them but I will go for Frank McKeown.
Who is the best trainer?
Scott Rumsby. I travel to training in Paisley early from my home in Dumfries to avoid the rush-hour traffic and Scott is already in the gym. He trains like he plays, and that is fully committed, which means he flies into tackles and the manager has to call a halt to training sometimes!
And the best dancer?!
I have only been to one night out with the Stranraer boys and that was at Christmas. Everything they told me about Sean Winter was true as he is something else to watch on the dance floor for two hours solid at a time. He practices his dance moves at training as well!
