Craig Fowler selects his SPFL Team of the Week, with Celtic winger James Forrest named star man for his Scottish Cup hat-trick against Partick Thistle.

GK - Trevor Carson (Motherwell)
A sliding doors moment occurred in Motherwell's Scottish Cup fifth-round victory at Dundee. Sofien Moussa looked set to level the scores, controlling a high ball and stepping inside the last defender, only to be denied by a sprawling Trevor Carson. Motherwell then went up the other end and made it 2-0, sealing their passage into the last eight.

DC - Stephen O'Donnell (Kilmarnock)
It was as a roving right-back rather than a robust centre-back that O'Donnell made his mark at the weekend, but we've included him in our makeshift back three anyway. The ex-Partick Thistle player put in a man-of-the-match worthy performance as Killie comfortably defeated Brora Rangers.

DC - Iain Davidson (Raith Rovers)
Raith took advantage of Ayr United's Scottish Cup clash with Rangers to move eight points clear at the top of the Ladbrokes League 1 table. It wasn't the easiest of games as they fought back from a goal down against Airdrie, with Davidson once again impressing in defence.

DC - Sean Dillon (Montrose)
Another solid performance from the veteran, who has excelled since joining Stewart Petrie’s men from Dundee United in the summer. On this occasion he helped the League 2 table-toppers stretch their lead over Peterhead to six points with a 1-0 home win over Stenhousemuir.

MR - James Forrest (Celtic)
This has been the Scottish international's best season to date. He underlined that point on Saturday by scoring all three goals in Celtic's 3-2 triumph over Partick Thistle, taking his tally to 16 for the campaign, as the hosts survived a late scare to make it into the last eight. He's this week's star man.

MC - Sean Goss (Rangers)
The classy playmaker, on loan from Queens Park Rangers, chalked up four assists as Rangers recovered from the loss of an early goal to record a thumping 6-1 win over Ladbrokes League 1 high-flyers Ayr United on a tricky surface at Somerset Park on Sunday.

MC - Kevin Nicoll (Clyde)
A real battling performance from the midfielder as Clyde continued their resurgence in Ladbrokes League 2. Any fears of relegation have now completely dissipated as the in-form Bully Wee, revived by Danny Lennon, made it four wins on the bounce with a 1-0 triumph at Berwick Rangers.

ML - Frank Ross (Morton)
The on-loan Aberdeen winger scored his first goal for Morton in his fourth appearance for his temporary club, helping Jim Duffy's men to defeat Dumbarton in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup and set up a quarter-final trip to Celtic Park.

AMR - Aidan Keena (Queen's Park)
Two goals for the on-loan Hearts forward, including a terrific second to clinch the game, as Queen's Park ran out 2-0 winners away to East Fife. The Spiders moved themselves off the bottom of the Ladbrokes League 1 table, easing ahead of Forfar Athletic on goal difference.

AML - Gary Mackay-Steven (Aberdeen)
Another player to strike twice at the weekend, and against his old club no less. The winger didn't have any qualms about putting Dundee United's Scottish Cup hopes to the sword, adding an assist to his productive day as the Dons won 4-2 at Pittodrie.

FC - Kyle Lafferty (Heart of Midlothian)
The Northern Irish striker took his tally to 14 goals for the season as he bracketed a terrific Demetri Mitchell strike in Hearts' 3-0 Scottish Cup victory over St Johnstone. It's the first time the Jambos have reached the last eight since they won the competition in 2012.
