SPL announce deals with EA Sports and William Hill

The Scottish Premier League today announced two new commercial deals ahead of the forthcoming season

The Scottish Premier League (SPL) today announced two new commercial deals ahead of the forthcoming season.

Following last month’s announcement of a new four-year partnership with Mitre as official ball supplier, these new deals were approved by the clubs at the SPL Annual General Meeting on Monday 18 July.

The licensing deal between the SPL and EA Sports will continue for another six seasons, until end of season 2016/17. The Clydesdale Bank Premier League and its clubs will continue to feature in EA Sports’ football games and the next game, FIFA 12, will be launched later this year.

Robert Wadsworth, Business Affairs Manager at EA Sports said: "We are delighted to have renewed our partnership with the Scottish Premier League and look forward to delivering further authentic SPL experiences to the gaming community via our FIFA franchise."

After a successful partnership in 2010/11, William Hill have signed a new long-term contract to continue as Official Betting Partner of the SPL. William Hill’s latest promotions will feature on the official SPL website – www.scotprem.com.

"After such a thrilling climax to last season's Clydesdale Bank Premier League campaign - it was a no-brainer that we wanted to be involved again," said Kristof Fahy, William Hill Group Marketing Director. "The opportunity to reach out to such a diverse and passionate fan base will help to continue our fantastic partnership with Scottish football."

On the announcements, Neil Doncaster, Chief Executive of the SPL said: "Ahead of the new Clydesdale Bank Premier League season this weekend, it is great to be announcing more commercial deals with two global brands. These partnerships demonstrate the huge level of interest in Clydesdale Bank Premier League football in the UK. We look forward to working with EA Sports and William Hill over the coming season."
