Livingston are through to the Petrofac Training Cup final after beating Stranraer 5-4 on penalties at the Energy Assets Arena on Sunday.

It finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, and extra time failed to produce a goal despite good chances at both ends, with John McGlynn's men winning a sudden-death shoot-out.

Livi keeper Darren Jamieson saved the 12th spot-kick from Anthony Marenghi after Gary Glen and Craig Malcolm had earlier missed.

Jamie Longworth fired Stephen Aitken's League 1 visitors ahead with a low shot from outside the box late in the first half but Glen, on as a substitute, equalised midway through the second period of a tie that could have gone either way.

Livingston, who lost the 2000/01 decider to Airdrie, can now look forward to the final on Sunday April 5, when they will face one of Alloa, East Fife or Rangers.

Ally McCoist's men travel to Bayview for their delayed quarter-final on Tuesday October 21, with the winners heading to Recreation Park on a date to be confirmed.
