Ayr United have signed Partick Thistle attacking midfielder Ryan Stevenson on loan for a month ahead of their Boxing Day game with Brechin City.
The 31-year-old was a popular player during a previous spell at Somerset Park between 2006 and 2010 and has also turned out for St Johnstone, Hearts and Ipswich Town.
Ayr boss Ian McCall, whose side are second in Ladbrokes League 1, told the club website: "Ryan wouldn’t have dropped down the leagues for any other club. Sometimes you hear of a player who supports this club or that club - he genuinely loves Ayr United.
“I have watched him many times this season and it’s for his ability as a footballer that I have got him here. We have a small squad and Ryan can play in many different positions across midfield and up front."
Stevenson added: "It’s no secret how much this club means to me and I just want to get out there and help us catch Dunfermline. It’s an initial 28-day loan and I just want to play games and then take it from there."
