Stewart and Sawyers leave Clyde

Duffy keeps on with rebuilding job

John StewartWillie SawyersClyde have added strikers John Stewart and Willie Sawyers to the list of 13 players that left Broadwood last week with a spokesperson at the club saying, “Neither John or Willie will be offered terms for the campaign ahead.”

Stewart began his career at Aberdeen before joining Falkirk where he was loaned out to St Johnstone and then Queen of the South where he scored the winning goal in the Doonhamer’s 4-3 Scottish Cup semi-final success over the Dons in 2008.

The 25 year old then joined Ross County and Peterhead before becoming a Bully Wee player in January 2010 where he has scored 12 goals.

Sawyers made the step up from Maryhill Juniors in the summer of 2009 and he netted 12 times during his time at Broadwood.
