Free-scoring Dundee forward Greg Stewart has been rewarded for his fine form by being named SPFL Player of the Month for January.
The former Cowdenbeath forward enjoyed a purple patch in January, scoring five times in seven league appearances and helping his side collect 12 points from a possible 21 to lift Dundee to seventh in the Scottish Premiership.
During a prolific debut season, the 24-year-old has netted 14 goals in 28 appearances, despite setting himself a target of 10 goals at the start of the season – a figure he has since been forced to revise to 20.
Goals against Dundee United, Motherwell, Aberdeen, Kilmarnock and Hamilton Accies helped Stewart become the Premiership’s joint-top scorer with 12 league goals.
The SPFL’s monthly awards are held in conjunction with the Scottish Football Writers’ Association, with winners voted for by members of the Scottish media.
