Tapping blow for Brechin

Brechin City have been dealt a blow with the news that former Hearts midfielder Callum Tapping has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Brechin City have been dealt a blow with the news that former Hearts midfielder Callum Tapping has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old ex-Tottenham Hotspur player moved to Glebe Park in the summer but has been out of action since suffering a knee injury against Stirling Albion in mid-September.

Brechin boss Ray McKinnon, whose side are just two points outside the top four as they prepare to travel to Peterhead on Saturday, said: “Callum was not making great progress so we got him checked out again.

“It was disappointing to hear that there is cruciate damage and he will be out for several months. As far as we are aware, he will not be available for the rest of this campaign.”
