Craig Fowler of the Terrace Scottish Football Podcast walks us through his top XI for the week and provides some rationale behind why each player is included.

GK - Scott Fox (Ross County)
Even before his late penalty save ensured Ross County's passage into the League Cup final, Scott Fox had already shown himself to be a Hampden hero with a number of fine stops in his side's 3-1 win over Celtic. This week's star man.

DR - Keith Watson (St Mirren)
A real blood and thunder performance from the Buddies defender in a match that was low on quality, but nonetheless saw the hosts finally secure their first home victory over the season with a 3-1 win over Alloa.

DC - Mikey Devlin (Hamilton)
The centre-back is easing his way back into the side after injury and, following the heavy defeat against Celtic, has played an important role in Hamilton chalking up two clean sheets on the bounce.

DC - Paul Hanlon (Hibernian)
At a packed Tynecastle, in the cauldron of a League Cup semi, Hanlon used all his football intelligence and composure to help lead his side to a deserved victory against top-flight St Johnstone.

DL - Antons Kurakins (Hamilton)
Another member of the Accies defence who played an important part in the 1-0 victory at Kilmarnock. A potentially huge result in the relegation battle, it ended up being Killie boss Gary Locke's final game in charge.

MC - Martin Woods (Ross County)
An assist and a goal for the County midfielder in the League Cup semi-final win over Celtic. He was a picture of composure throughout, knocking passes around and ensuring County made their one-man advantage count in the midfield battle after the sending off of Efe Ambrose.

MC - John McGinn (Hibernian)
When McGinn is at his best, Hibs are borderline unstoppable. The diminutive midfielder dictated the play in Saturday's 2-1 win over Saints and it was only fitting that he struck the winning goal with a low drive from 25 yards.

MC - Matty Flynn (Annan Athletic)
Flynn enjoyed an all-action performance on Saturday as Annan Athletic got back to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Elgin. He netted his side's second then put them 3-0 to the good by scoring from close range following a flowing move that began with the second half kick-off.

FL - Alex Schalk (Ross County)
The County striker showed terrific movement and a flawless first touch throughout his side's victory over Celtic. He also kept his composure when it mattered most, firing into the roof of the net to put the game beyond the holders.

FC - Rory McAllister (Peterhead)
Two goals and a dominant display from the League 1 hitman. McAllister pounced on a mistake to dance around the goalkeeper and roll into an empty net. He then cheekily rolled the ball into the opposite corner when presented with the penalty that put Peterhead 3-1 up. A Shane Sutherland double then ensured a 5-1 win for the hosts against Albion Rovers.

FR - Bobby Linn (Arbroath)
The winger terrorised East Stirlingshire's defence from start to finish in Arbroath's win at Ochilview. He even put the cherry on top of the 3-0 victory after latching on to a through ball behind the defence and finishing coolly.
