Team of the Week

Craig Fowler selects his latest Team of the Week, with Morton midfielder Chris Millar the star man.

GK - Zander Clark (St Johnstone)
The Saints shot-stopper made a number of eye-catching saves in the first half of their 1-1 draw with Hibs on Sunday afternoon as Tommy Wright's side managed to get their first point on the board.

DR - Aaron McGowan (Hamilton Accies)
The summer signing impressed at right wing-back as Martin Canning's side earned bragging rights following a 1-0 victory in the Lanarkshire derby, as Steven Boyd's stunner was enough to defeat Motherwell.

DC - John Souttar (Hearts)
An excellent performance from the centre-back helped Hearts to victory over reigning champions Celtic in the early kick-off on Saturday. Even without captain and mentor Christophe Berra, the 21-year-old held the home defence firm as Brendan Rodgers' side barely created a chance in 90 minutes.

DC - Ryan McGeever (Brechin City)
The defender returned to the team after a long spell out through injury and his influence helped Darren Dods' men to record their first league victory since April 2017. Jordan Sinclair's goal was enough to defeat East Fife at Glebe Park.

DL - Jamie Stevenson (Peterhead)
He of Mallorca beach fame. Stevenson has been playing full-back at times for Peterhead over the past couple of seasons and he impressed in the role as the Blue Toon thumped Albion Rovers 4-0 at Cliftonhill. Stevenson notched a goal and an assist in the victory.

CM - Craig Slater (Partick Thistle)
The former Kilmarnock playmaker was given a more advanced role by Alan Archibald for the visit of Falkirk at the weekend and he repaid the faith put in him by his new boss. Slater impressed throughout as Thistle picked up their first win of the league campaign, emerging as 2-1 winners.

CM - Chris Millar (Greenock Morton)
It says a lot about how highly regarded Millar is at St Johnstone that some fans believe he should not have been released at the end of last season. That feeling of loss would not have been helped by his heroics at the weekend, as two rare goals from the midfielder helped defeat Alloa Athletic, including a belter of a second in his side's 2-0 win. He is this week's star man.

CM - Ross Draper (Ross County)
Two assists and a commanding midfield performance helped Ross County record perhaps the most impressive result of the lower leagues this weekend as they defeated fellow title contenders Dunfermline 3-1 at East End Park.

FC - John Baird (Forfar Athletic)
The ex-Falkirk and Raith Rovers striker turned back the years with a two-goal performance as Forfar Athletic upset the odds to defeat Dumbarton 2-0 away from home.

FC - Pavol Safranko (Dundee United)
United's new signing made an instant impact as he scored and impressed in his side's 2-1 victory over Queen of the South at Palmerston. His arrival, coupled with United looking much more comfortable in a 3-5-2 formation, has given supporters reason to be optimistic once more.

FC - Alfredo Morelos (Rangers)
Free to play after his red card at Pittodrie last weekend was rescinded; Morelos sparkled as Rangers comfortably defeated St Mirren 2-0 on Sunday despite having another man sent off. By the time Ross McCrorie was dismissed the hosts had already gone 2-0 up, with Morelos nabbing the first.
