Team of the Week

Craig Fowler selects his SPFL Team of the Week, with Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard the star man for his two-goal performance against Hearts…

GK - Allan McGregor (Rangers)
St Mirren started Saturday's early kick-off in the ascendancy and might have had a couple of goals for their efforts had it not been for a pair of superb reflex stops from McGregor. That kept the score at 0-0, enabling the visitors to win the match with two late goals.

DC - Joe Shaughnessy (St Johnstone)
The Irishman played a key role in stopping Hibs from scoring and then grabbed the game's only goal in the dying minutes as St Johnstone won their fourth consecutive Ladbrokes Premiership game without conceding.

DC - Matty Allan (Montrose)
Montrose moved off the bottom of the Ladbrokes League 1 table (rising all the way up to sixth) thanks to a 1-0 home victory over Dumbarton. They were able to achieve the result thanks to a stellar defensive performance, with Allan and Sean Dillon excelling throughout.

DC - Ziggy Gordon (Hamilton Accies)
Gordon made 12 interceptions, among the most of any player in the Ladbrokes Premiership at the weekend, to help Hamilton record a much-needed 1-0 victory over Livingston. There are now six points between Accies and the relegation places.

MR - Danny Jardine (Stirling Albion)
The midfielder was excellent throughout Stirling Albion's 3-0 home win over Berwick Rangers. The former St Johnstone man set up the opener, scored the third and had a terrific team goal ruled out for a contentious offside decision.

MC - David Turnbull (Motherwell)
Motherwell fans are infatuated with their young midfielder - and with good reason. He's been excellent since earning a chance in the first team, with Stephen Robinson's men getting over a slow start to the campaign by recording back-to-back victories. Turnbull’s stunning strike was the difference as Well defeated Dundee 1-0 at Fir Park.

MC - John Rankin (Clyde)
Speaking of scoring the only goal, veteran midfielder John Rankin was the hero for Clyde as the Bully Wee picked up one of the most impressive results of the Ladbrokes League 2 season by defeating previous table-toppers Edinburgh City 1-0 at Ainslie Park.

MC - Gavin Swankie (Arbroath)
The experienced midfielder has been in terrific form this season and that continued on Saturday with the undefeated leaders managing to secure a narrow, but deserved, 1-0 win over East Fife at Gayfield.

ML - Jack Iredale (Morton)
Partick Thistle were thumped 5-1 by Morton at Cappielow as their poor run continued. There were several Ton stars in contention for Team of the Week but Iredale gets the nod for constantly threatening down the flank and netting one of the five goals.

FC - Odsonne Edouard (Celtic)
Celtic are not yet back on top of the Ladbrokes Premiership table but it feels like only a matter of time after the Hoops hammered league leaders Hearts 5-0 at Celtic Park. Though there were many contenders, two goals and an assist propelled Edouard above his team-mates. He is this week's star man.

FC - Kevin Nisbet (Raith Rovers)
Nisbet has lit up League 1 this season and that continued on Saturday as he netted both of Rovers' goals in the 2-1 home win over Brechin City - a result which keeps John McGlynn's men seven points behind Arbroath. Nisbet is now up to 15 league goals for the season.
