Team of the Week

Craig Fowler selects his SPFL Team of the Week, with Edinburgh City striker Blair Henderson the star man...

GK - Mark Gillespie (Motherwell)
The goalkeeper was Well's star man as they took all three points from their trip to McDiarmid Park. His first-half penalty save from Matty Kennedy proved vital as the Steelmen won 2-1.

DC - Ryan Porteous (Hibernian)
The highly-rated Hibs youngster walked off with a bottle of champagne, courtesy of Sky Sports, after winning the man-of-the-award in the Easter Road side's 2-0 victory over Celtic.

DC - Dylan Cogill (Clyde)
Clyde were victors at the weekend thanks to a last-minute goal from John Rankin. It wasn't the best of performances from Danny Lennon's side but, with Cogill holding together the defence, they were able to restrict Annan and put themselves in a position to win.

DC - Ross Dunlop (East Fife)
The Fife were able to remain in third place in Ladbrokes League 1 thanks to a 2-0 victory over Stenhousemuir at Ochilview. Playing away to his former club, Dunlop excelled in the defence, helping his team to a clean sheet in horrible conditions.

MC - Alan Power (Kilmarnock)
Power has applied for permanent residency in the Team of the Week and who are we to say no to perhaps the most consistent player in the Ladbrokes Premiership this term. He was again a stand-out for Killie as they defeated Dundee 3-1 at Rugby Park.

MC - Andy Murdoch (Ayr United)
Murdoch, along with Lawrence Shankland, shone brightest for Ladbrokes Championship leaders Ayr in a terrific 3-3 clash against closest challengers Ross County.

MC - Ross McCrorie (Rangers)

In a team performance that Steven Gerrard described as ‘frustrating’, Ross McCrorie stood out in a defensive midfield role. His ability to halt opposing attacks helped the home side to continually drive forward, making the 1-0 result a lot more comfortable than it may have appeared.

AMR - Daniel Armstrong (Raith Rovers)
Armstrong netted an early equaliser and impressed again as Raith Rovers twice came from behind to defeat Dumbarton 4-2 at Stark's Park. However, they remain 13 points behind Arbroath, who have shown little sign of slowing down in their bid for the title.

AML - Ryan Hardie (Livingston)
The forward, over his recent injury woes, made it three goals in two games as Livingston stunned Hearts with a five-goal blitz. The game was tied at 0-0 going into the 72nd minute but 14 minutes later it was 5-0, with Hardie netting goals three and four and having hit the post in the first half.

FC - Dale Hilson (Forfar Athletic)
Hilson netted both goals, including an 80th-minute winner, as Forfar came from behind to defeat Angus rivals Montrose at Station Park, a result which moved the Loons above their opponents and into fourth place in the League 1 table.

FC - Blair Henderson (Edinburgh City)

Edinburgh extended their lead atop the Ladbrokes League 2 table thanks to a combination of their 4-1 win over Elgin City and Peterhead's match with Cowdenbeath being postponed due to high winds. As so often this season, City were aided by the heroics of Henderson, who netted his second hat-trick of 2018/19. He is this week's star man.
