Team of the Week

Craig Fowler selects his latest SPFL Team of the Week, with Stirling Albion hat-trick hero Peter MacDonald the star man

GK - Marc McCallum (Forfar Athletic)
The goalkeeper made several strong stops as Forfar went to the home of their local rivals, and Ladbrokes League 1 leaders Arbroath, and won 2-0. Luckily for the Red Lichties, Raith Rovers passed up their chance to close the gap at the top.

CB - Andy Munro (Stenhousemuir)
A dominant display from the defender helped Stenhousemuir to all three points from their clash with Airdrieonians. Clearly not distracted by the upcoming Scottish Cup replay with Aberdeen, Stenny moved to within a point of Dumbarton at the bottom of League 1 with the 1-0 triumph.

CB - John Souttar (Heart of Midlothian)
Souttar showed his worth at both ends of the pitch as Hearts defeated St Johnstone 2-0 at Tynecastle on Saturday. Along with contributing to the clean sheet, the centre-back played an outrageously good pass for Marcus Godinho to open the scoring.

CB - Darren McGregor (Hibernian)
Another defender who played a key role in both boxes. McGregor cleared a St Mirren opportunity off his own line and rattled the ball into the net at the other end as Hibs came back to defeat their hosts 3-1.

RM - Blair Spittal (Partick Thistle)
The midfielder, largely playing off the striker with licence to roam, created both goals and another two great opportunities as Partick Thistle finished the calendar month undefeated and moved off the bottom of the Ladbrokes Championship with a deserved 2-1 win over Queen of the South.

MC - Alex Rodriguez Gorrin (Motherwell)
Having been injured for a significant chunk of the season, the Spaniard showed Well fans what they'd been missing with a composed passing performance as Stephen Robinson's men went to Dundee and left with all three points.

MC - Ross Docherty (Ayr United)
The midfielder put in a commanding display as Ayr United kept their title ambitions on track with a 1-0 triumph over Dundee United on Friday night.

MC - Kurtis Roberts (Queen's Park)
Roberts netted two incredible goals amid a glut of eye-catching strikes from the hosts as Queen's Park battered Berwick Rangers 7 (S-E-V-E-N) - 1 at Hampden Park.

LM - Kalvin Orsi (Brechin City)
Strong, direct running from the attacker, playing on the left of a 4-3-3, helped Brechin City to upset Raith Rovers at Glebe Park. The come-from-behind 2-1 win keeps Brechin off the bottom.

FC - Anton Dowds (East Fife)
Dowds made it four goals in as many games as East Fife won the match of the day in Ladbrokes League 1, defeating hosts Stranraer by the odd goal in seven. The visitors were 3-1 down at one point during the second half, but Craig Watson pulled one back before Dowds turned the result on its head in the final 18 minutes.

FC - Peter MacDonald (Stirling Albion)
This week's star man award goes to the 38-year-old striker as Stirling Albion went to Albion Rovers and left with a 5-0 win. MacDonald bagged a hat-trick as the Binos extended their good run to just one defeat in 11 games with their biggest away league victory in a decade.
