Team of the Week

Craig Fowler selects the SPFL Team of the Week, with Motherwell's Jake Hastie the star man...

GK - Harry Burgoyne (Falkirk)
There are signs of life from the Championship's bottom club after a convincing 3-0 home victory over Queen of the South. On-loan Wolves keeper Burgoyne was one of several Bairns to impress as they stayed unbeaten in 2019 and moved to within two points of eighth-placed Alloa.

DC - Steven Anderson (Partick Thistle)
What a debut for the St Johnstone loanee. Anderson marshalled the backline superbly and got himself on the scoresheet as the Firhill club won the 'Thistle derby' 2-1 in Inverness.

DC - Tommie Hoban (Aberdeen)
The defender returned from long-term injury at the end of January and has quickly showed Aberdeen fans what they missed in his absence as he put in a composed showing in the 2-1 victory over Hibs at Easter Road.

DC - Jozo Simunovic (Celtic)
He may only have been playing thanks to injuries which have decimated Celtic's centre-back corps, but Simunovic showed he still has a future at the club with an impressive display in Sunday's 2-1 win at St Johnstone. Not only was he strong in defence, his ability to charge out with the ball helped Celtic keep their opponents under pressure.

MR - Jake Hastie (Motherwell)
Two goals from the Motherwell youngster, who has returned from a loan spell at Alloa to help turn around the fortunes of the Fir Park club in recent games. On this occasion it helped put Livingston to the sword as the hosts ran out 3-0 winners. He is this week's star man.

MC - Paul Watson (Montrose)
Two goals, including an acrobatic overhead kick, from the midfielder helped Montrose to a 5-2 victory over local rivals Brechin City at Links Park.

MC - Oliver Bozanic (Hearts)
Hearts were able to win at Kilmarnock for the second time this season - no mean feat in the Steve Clarke era - off the back of two first-half goals. The Jambos were impressive in that period, with Bozanic strong in the centre of the park.

MC - Ian Harkes (Dundee United)
United fans are already impressed with the January signing from MLS after he put in a thoroughly impressive shift during the 2-1 home win over Morton.

ML - Jack Breen (Edinburgh City)
The on-loan Hamilton ace's lively performance was a boost to the Edinburgh City attack in the only game to go ahead in Ladbrokes League 2. He netted the home side's second goal and was a menace throughout his 65 minutes as City defeated Albion Rovers 3-1.

FC - Jermain Defoe (Rangers)
The on-loan striker led the line impressively alongside Alfredo Morelos as Rangers defeated St Mirren 4-0. He got his first goal at Ibrox when James Tavernier allowed him to take the fourth penalty of the afternoon.

FC - Michael Moffat (Ayr United)
Two goals from the experienced attacker helped Ayr to a 3-1 win at Alloa Athletic which helps them stay just behind Ross County at the top of the Ladbrokes Championship.
