Team of the Week

Craig Fowler selects his latest SPFL Team of the Week, with Motherwell's David Turnbull the star man...

GK - Peter Morrison (Albion Rovers)
Thanks to a 3-0 default win over Clyde and their 1-0 triumph at Forthbank, Albion Rovers picked up six points in one day and now have a real chance of staying up. They were able to secure their victory against the Binos thanks to an outstanding late save from on-loan Motherwell man Morrison.

DC - Jordan McGhee (Falkirk)
The defender netted twice as Falkirk earned a crucial win against Ayr United on Friday night, winning 2-0 and moving out of the Ladbrokes Championship relegation places.

DC - Stuart Findlay (Kilmarnock)
Findlay was a colossus on Monday evening as Kilmarnock ended their eight-game winless run, and five-game scoreless sequence, with a 1-0 victory over St Mirren. Liam Millar grabbed the late winner in Paisley.

DC - Craig Halkett (Livingston)
The Livi captain scored and put in a solid defensive shift as the Lions came from 1-0 down to defeat St Johnstone 3-1 at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

MR - Ross MacIver (Elgin City)
MacIver netted both goals, including the winner 11 minutes from time, as Elgin piled on Clyde's misery. The result just keeps the Moray club in the race for the play-offs as they trail Annan Athletic by eight points with a game in hand.

MC - Joe Thomson (Dunfermline Athletic)
The midfielder once again covered every blade of (synthetic) grass as the Pars defeated Alloa Athletic 1-0 at the Indodrill Stadium to hold on to their play-off spot.

MC - David Turnbull (Motherwell)
The midfielder scored twice and provided an inadvertent assist as Motherwell thumped local rivals Hamilton Accies on Saturday, netting all three goals in the first half.

ML - Kenny van der Weg (Ross County)
The left-back impressed in defence and got up the wing to good effect as Ross County strengthened their hold on the Ladbrokes Championship title race with a 2-0 home win over Morton. The Staggies have an eight-point advantage over Dundee United with a game in hand.

FC - Scott McDonald (Partick Thistle)
Playing against his former club, McDonald shone as he led the line for Thistle in their 2-1 win over Dundee United, a result which moved them off the bottom of the table. Not only did the Aussie put in a power of work, he also opened the scoring.

FC - Mark McGuigan (Stenhousemuir)
The result of the day in League 1 came from relegation-threatened Stenhousemuir, who went to champions-elect Arbroath and left with a 2-0 win. McGuigan not only scored in the victory, he also got the better of Arbroath stalwart Thomas O'Brien. There are very few forwards who could say that this season.

FC - Dom Thomas (Dumbarton)
Another weekend, another starring performance from Dom Thomas, who netted twice as Dumbarton kept up their recent red-hot form, defeating Montrose 3-1 at Links Park.
