Team of the Week

Craig Fowler selects his SPFL Team of the Week, with Clyde midfielder Chris McStay the star man...

GK - Marc McCallum (Forfar Athletic)
Forfar may have been beaten 2-1 at home to East Fife in the only league match across the SPFL on Saturday but it would have been a lot more if McCallum hadn't been in top form. The Fife took advantage of their game in hand to move top of Ladbrokes League 1.

DC - Andy Munro (Stenhousemuir)
The centre-back led the defence and won the majority of his aerial battles as Stenhousemuir were able to oust Welsh champions The New Saints on penalties after the game finished 1-1. He even showed his team-mates how it was done in the shoot-out, slotting away the first kick.

DC - Thomas O'Brien (Arbroath)
Red Lichties fans are continuing to thank their lucky stars that the imperious defender wishes to stay in part-time football as he put in another tremendous showing at Tannadice. The visitors kept a clean sheet and advanced to the next round on spot-kicks.

DC - Conor McBrearty (St Mirren)
The young centre-back stood out as St Mirren's under-21s were able to do what so many other colt teams haven't and make it to the fourth round of the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Cup, beating Stirling Albion 1-0 in Paisley.

MR - Luke McCowan (Ayr United)
Ayr exited the competition on Saturday as a penalty shoot-out victory ensured it would be Wrexham playing in the last 16, but the visitors still impressed for the majority of the match in Wales, with McCowan playing his part on the wing.

MC - Sean Welsh (Inverness CT)
The midfielder shone in the centre of the park as Inverness booked themselves a place in the next round with a 3-1 home victory over Morton.

MC - Regan Hendry (Raith Rovers)
It's looking increasingly likely that Hendry will be among the best players in League 1 this season as he strolled through the all-third-tier clash between Raith and Falkirk, which the hosts won 2-0.

MC - Chris McStay (Clyde)
McStay scored a stunning overhead kick and was the maestro in the middle of the park as Clyde came storming back from two goals down to dump Queen of the South out of the Caramel Wafer Cup. He is this week's star man.

ML - Rabin Omar (Elgin City)
The winger scored a belting goal as the League 2 side stunned Dundee, coming from a goal down away to their highly-fancied hosts and managing to inflict a big upset, winning 2-1.

FC - Kenny Miller (Partick Thistle)
The veteran striker found the net at Links Park as Partick Thistle saw themselves safely through to the next round at the expense of League 1 Montrose.

FC - Anton Dowds (East Fife)
We started with the only match in League 1 and we shall end with it. Dowds continued his potent partnership with Ryan Wallace to help the Fifers come from behind to defeat Forfar, with the attacker bagging the winning goal.
