Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View From the Terrace selects his SPFL Team of the Week, with Raith Rovers' Kieron Bowie the star man...

GK - Mark Ridgers (Inverness CT)
Inverness are in the semi-finals of the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Cup largely thanks to their goalkeeper. Ridgers pulled off a good second-half stop then saved two penalties in the shoot-out as the Highland club sneaked past League 1 Clyde after a 0-0 draw.

DR - Stephen Welsh (Morton)
Welsh was moved from right wing-back to centre-back after an early injury and impressed in the role. He was strong in the air, tidy on the ball, and made a few key tackles as Morton defeated Arbroath 1-0 in the Ladbrokes Championship.

DC - Chris Hamilton (Cowdenbeath)
Playing in midfield, the Hearts loanee defender stood out as Cowdenbeath survived a fiery contest with Queen's Park in Ladbrokes League 2, holding on to a 1-0 win despite seeing striker David Cox sent off.

DC - Matty Allan (Montrose)
Peterhead v Montrose was a game with defences very much on top. From the 0-0 draw in Ladbrokes League 1 we've plumped for the ex-Dundee defender for helping his side record a seventh straight game without defeat.

DL - James Penrice (Partick Thistle)
The full-back impressed going up and down the wing as Partick Thistle saw off Stenhousemuir 4-1 at Ochilview in the quarter-finals of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup.

MC - Kyle Hutton (Dumbarton)
The Sons should have taken all three points but were denied by a late penalty. Hutton controlled the midfield during the 1-1 draw, which turned out to be Ray McKinnon’s last game as Falkirk boss.

MC - Jamie Barjonas (Rangers Colts)
Barjonas scored the opening goal and was excellent in the centre of the park as Rangers' youngsters defeated Wrexham 2-0 at Ibrox to reach the semi-finals of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup.

MR - Paul McMullan (Dundee United)
The winger was tormentor-in-chief as Dundee United managed to survive a weekend without Lawrence Shankland, easily defeating Queen of the South 3-0 and getting some revenge for the hammering they received at Palmerston last month.

AM - Declan Glass (Cove Rangers)
Glass continued his excellent campaign in League 2 with a goal and an assist as leaders Cove Rangers left it late but eventually racked up a 3-0 triumph against a stubborn Brechin City team.

ML - Dale Carrick (Airdrieonians)
Is it right to include a player purely for scoring an outrageously good goal? Of course it is. Carrick sealed the points for new League 1 leaders Airdrie as they continued their fine form, winning 2-0 at Stranraer, with a back-heeled volley via the underside of the bar. We suggest you seek this out immediately!

FC - Kieron Bowie (Raith Rovers)
Rovers came through a five-goal thriller with Elgin City on Friday night, thanks in large part to a double from Bowie. The 17-year-old netted for the second round in succession to help his team into the last four of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup. For his two-goal heroics, he is this week's star man.
