Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View From the Terrace names his SPFL Team of the Week, with Motherwell striker Kevin van Veen the star man

GK - Matt Macey (Hibernian)
Sunday's Edinburgh derby may have finished 0-0, but it was still an enthralling fixture between two sides who went at each other and will feel unfortunate to be denied by such strong goalkeepers. In a tight call, we've opted for Macey over Craig Gordon, with the former Arsenal man making a very impressive stop from Gary Mackay-Steven, in particular.

DR - Scott Stewart (Arbroath)
Some weekend for Arbroath and some weekend for Stewart, who scored one goal and had a hand in two others as Dick Campbell’s side thumped Hamilton Accies 4-0 at Gayfield to move into third place in the cinch Championship table.

DRC - James Tavernier (Rangers)
The captain was Rangers' most impressive player on Saturday afternoon, even before he produced a stunning strike to clinch a 2-1 victory over St Johnstone and send Steven Gerrard's men to the top of the cinch Premiership table.

DC - Cameron Carter-Vickers (Celtic)
The Tottenham loanee enjoyed an excellent debut in Celtic's 3-0 victory over Ross County. He was dominant in defence, accurate in his passing and netted the deflected opener in 65 minutes which sent his new club on the path to victory.

DLC - Gregor Buchanan (Dumbarton)
It was quite the weekend for goalscoring defenders, with the former Dunfermline centre-half helping himself to a double in Dumbarton's 5-0 hammering of East Fife in cinch League 1. He also strolled things at the back as the Sons moved up into third place.

DL - Roberto Nditi (Queen of the South)
Finally, someone who didn't find the back of the net. Instead, Nditi was a key component in an excellent defensive showing from Queens who went to Raith Rovers and left with all three points thanks to a 1-0 win.

MC - Beni Baningime (Heart of Midlothian)
Hearts started slowly in Sunday's derby but grew into the game, with Baningime's tremendous ball-winning qualities and composure in possession a key factor in their play.

MC - Scott Allardice (Inverness Caledonian Thistle)
The 23-year-old continued his excellent start to the season with another fine performance as Billy Dodds' 100% table-toppers came roaring back in the second half to defeat Partick Thistle 3-1 in the cinch Championship.

MC - Mouhamed Niang (Alloa Athletic)
Niang, on loan from Partick Thistle, was tasked with keeping former Alloa favourite Stevie Hetherington quiet and did just that with a fine performance as the Wasps beat Falkirk 2-0.

FC - Kevin van Veen (Motherwell)
A goal and an assist from 'Budget Bergkamp' won Motherwell all three points against Aberdeen on Saturday. Not only did the Dutchman provide the difference between the teams, he also continued to wow the Fir Park crowd with some incredible touches. He is this week's star man.

FC - Tomi Adeloye (Ayr United)
The nomadic 25-year-old is turning into one of the finds of the season for the Honest Men, who defeated Dunfermline Athletic 3-1 despite seeing manager David Hopkin depart in the week leading up to the game. Adeloye netted his fifth and sixth goals of the campaign to leave Peter Grant's visitors bottom of the table.
