Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his SPFL XI with Ayr United's Logan Chalmers the Star Man...

GK - Zach Hemming (St Mirren)

The Buddies extended their unbeaten start to the cinch Premiership season with a 1-0 victory over Heart of Midlothian on Saturday to sit second in the table. While the home side were worthy winners in Paisley, they required Hemming to make two huge second-half saves to ensure the three points stayed with them.

DEF - Lewis Miller (Hibs)

The Australian has been reunited with former Central Coast Mariners boss Nick Montgomery and, if Saturday's performance against St Johnstone is anything to go by, it should bode well for his future prospects at Easter Road. Miller scored the opening goal and was a real threat surging up the right flank in a 2-0 win over St. Johnstone.

DEF - Nicky Jamieson (Stenhousemuir)

Stenny sit top of cinch League 2 after defeating Bonnyrigg Rose 1-0 on Saturday. Gary Naysmith's side have reached the summit thanks to a stellar defensive showing so far this season. The Warriors have conceded just four goals on league business so far this season, the best record in the division. Jamieson and fellow defender Gregor Buchanan have played a big part in that record.

DEF - Tom Lang (Falkirk)

Falkirk retained top spot in cinch League 1 after a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Kelty Hearts in Fife. While many of John McGlynn's attackers sparkled in the win, we've gone for Lang, who was imperious at the back to give the Bairns a platform to build on.

DEF - Mason Hancock (Airdrieonians)

A strong showing from the former Aberdeen defender helped Airdrieonians to defeat Raith Rovers in the cinch Championship as the Diamonds emerged with a fine 1-0 triumph. Hancock was an impessive performer against Rovers' attackers before Calum Gallagher finished off an incredible team goal to win the match.

MID - Logan Chalmers (Ayr United)

Ayr United put on a show at Hampden Park to run out 5-2 winners against Queen's Park and Chalmers was the stand-out performer for The Honest Men. Chalmers tormented the hosts on Glasgow's south side, scoring twice and setting up another goal as Lee Bullen's side moved into eighth spot in the cinch Championship. He is this week's Star Man.

MID - Matt O’Riley (Celtic)

The early leading contender for cinch Premiership Player of the Year, O'Riley produced another excellent performance as he scored his fourth league goal of the campaign. The Danish midfielder helped Celtic get the better of Livingston at the Tony Macaroni and his strike in West Lothian ensures he sits at the top of the division's scoring charts alongside team-mate Kyogo Furuhashi and another Team of the Week player.....

MID - Ben Summers (Dunfermline Athletic)

Celtic loanee Summers helped the Pars go three successive games without defeat as they won 3-1 at home to Greenock Morton. Summers, who played twice for the Scottish champions last term, dominated in the middle at East End Park and will have impressed those watching from his parent club.

MID - Jermaine Hylton (Arbroath)

In inspired form since his return to Scotland, Hylton once again played a critical role as Arbroath ran out 3-0 winners against Partick Thistle. Hylton scored twice in Glasgow as the Red Lichties made it four wins on the spin in the cinch Championship to sit in the final promotion play-off place.

FC - Ryan Shanley (Edinburgh City)

Edinburgh City came so close to their first cinch League 1 win of the season only for Jack Wilkie's injury-time own goal to see the points shared with Cove Rangers. Ryan Shanley was key to helping the capital side claim their first league point of the campaign, scoring once and ensuring the Cove defence got no peace in this encounter.

FC - Bojan Miovski (Aberdeen)

Aberdeen were on form as they beat Ross County 4-0 at Pittodrie for their first cinch Premiership three points of 2023/24. Miovski scored twice and brought others into play by holding the ball high up the field. Aberdeen's number nine is level with Kyogo and Matt O'Riley in the race for the Golden Boot.
