Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his cinch SPFL XI after the weekend's games...

GK - Calum Ferrie (Queen’s Park)

Raith Rovers moved level on points with leaders Dundee United in the cinch Championship title race after being held to a 0-0 draw with Queen's Park at Hampden. The hosts secured the result, in part, thanks to the heroics of their goalkeeper who made two massive saves.

DEF - Stefan Gartenmann (Aberdeen)

Aberdeen got themselves a long-awaited and much-needed league victory with a 1-0 win at Motherwell in the cinch Premiership. Gartenmann put in a top performance at Fir Park.

DEF - Cameron Carter-Vickers (Celtic)

The centre-back returned from injury and immediately slotted into the Celtic defence as they defeated St Johnstone 3-1 to move back to the top of the cinch Premiership table.

DEF - Fergus Owens (Hamilton Accies)

A dominant performance from the centre-back helped Accies sweep aside visitors Stirling Albion with a 3-0 victory at New Douglas Park.

MID - Arron Lyall (Airdrieonians)

The on-loan Rangers winger notched a goal and an assist and put in an excellent showing as Airdrieonians recovered from an early deficit to thump Arbroath 5-2 in Lanarkshire.

MID - Ryan Blair (Dumbarton)

The most eye-catching result of the lower-league weekend occurred at Ainslie Park as Dumbarton won 6-2 against The Spartans. Many Sons players deserved a spot in this team, but we're going for Blair after he netted a pair of free-kicks during the victory.

MID - Liam Donnelly (Kilmarnock)

Killie came roaring back on Saturday to beat St Mirren in the cinch Premiership and take back fourth place in the table. This occurred in a mad 18-minute second-half period in which the hosts netted five times. Donnelly's aggression in the middle of the park was a huge difference between their first and second half performances.

MID - Scott Robinson (Patrick Thistle)

Thistle got back to winning ways in the cinch Championship - securing their first three points since January 6 - beating Greenock Morton 2-1 to cement their promotion play-off place. Robinson was both the stand out for the Jags and got what proved to be the winning goal.

MID - Elie Youan (Hibs)

Two assists from the wide man helped Hibs move back into the top six with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Livingston, a match which was settled after 22 minutes with the hosts already three goals to the good.

FWD - Simon Murray (Ross County)

This week's Star Man netted two hugely important goals for County in their battle to avoid the relegation play-off spot as they defeated Hearts 2-1 in the top flight. The result moves County to within a point of safety.

FWD - Alex Jakubiak (Dunfermline Athletic)

While Jakubiak didn't get on the scoresheet himself, he had a massive impact on Dunfermline's 3-1 triumph over Dundee United in Friday's televised cinch Championship clash. The forward bullied the United defence for 90 minutes as Matty Todd and Kane Ritchie-Hosler did the business for James McPake's Pars.
