Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View From the Terrace names his SPFL Team of the Week, with Alloa Athletic striker Bobby Wales the star man...

GK - Kevin Dabrowski (Raith Rovers)
The Rovers keeper made a couple of incredible saves as his side won 1-0 away to Inverness Caley Thistle on Friday night despite the hosts being the more threatening team for the majority of the match.

DEF - Sam McClelland (Dundee United)
United were all but crowned cinch Championship title winners on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Ayr United. The Tannadice side lead Raith Rovers by six points with two games remaining and have a goal difference advantage which is essentially insurmountable. McClelland has been in good form since injury problems robbed Jim Goodwin of his first-choice centre-back pairing and he was impressive again at the weekend.

DEF - Matty Douglas (Annan Athletic)
A goal from the centre-back helped Annan to a huge three points in their fight to avoid relegation from cinch League 1, coming from behind to defeat Edinburgh City at Meadowbank.

DEF - Kieran Watson (The Spartans)
Bonnyrigg Rose remain in trouble near the bottom of the SPFL after being defeated 1-0 at home by Spartans. Blair Henderson took the headlines with an incredible winner, but it was Watson who was the stand-out for the visitors, dominating in defence.

DEF - Harry Milne (Partick Thistle)
After taking time to adjust following a lengthy period out through injury, Milne is looking back to his best as Partick Thistle approach the play-offs with a bit of momentum after routing Airdrieonians 4-0 at Firhill.

MID - James Forrest (Celtic)
Not many Team of the Week selections are players who've been subbed on and off in the same game but then there were many things unusual about Celtic's penalty shoot-out victory over Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-final following a 3-3 draw. Forrest was on the park for over an hour all in, as he gave the Parkhead side a much-needed second-half lift, including scoring a goal, before being replaced just before Aberdeen's late extra-time equaliser as Celtic looked to shore things up.

MID - Todd Cantwell (Rangers)
A sparkling performance from the midfielder helped Rangers set up a Scottish Cup final showdown with their greatest rivals as they were able to defeat Hearts 2-0 in the second semi-final on Sunday.

MID - Dylan Tait (Falkirk)
Falkirk kept their unbeaten league season going despite going down to 10 men early in their encounter with Kelty Hearts. Helping to make up for the man disadvantage, Tait was everywhere in the 2-2 draw, working tirelessly to preserve the invincible campaign with two weeks remaining.

MID - Grant Gillespie (Greenock Morton)
Morton are officially safe in the Championship after a 2-1 victory away to already-relegated Arbroath. Gillespie put in one of his best performances in weeks during the win.

FWD - Bobby Wales (Alloa Athletic)
Two excellently-taken goals from the on-loan Kilmarnock striker helped Alloa Athletic clinch a play-off spot in cinch League 1 with a 3-2 win at Cove Rangers on Saturday evening. Wales netted his first shortly after the break, but the Wasps needed their striker to win the match again late on after Cove tied it up at 2-2. Wales is this week's star man.

FWD - Russell McLean (Forfar Athletic)
Two goals from the January signing secured Forfar's safety in the SPFL for another season as they beat East Fife 2-1 at Station Park. McLean hadn't netted since February but his seven goals since arriving at the club have been key in their survival.
