Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his William Hill SPFL XI...

GK - Dimitar Mitov (Aberdeen)

Aberdeen continued their brilliant start to the William Hill Premiership season with a fourth consecutive win thanks to Kevin Nisbet's injury-time goal at Ross County. But they wouldn't have been in position to nab the late 1-0 win if not for a terrific penalty save from Mitov, who denied Ronan Hale with the game still in the balance at 0-0.

DEF - Daniel Strachan (Peterhead)

Two assists from the full-back helped the Blue Toon to defeat Edinburgh City 4-0 in the capital. The Aberdeenshire side keep their place at the top of William Hill League 2 after five games.

DEF - Dan Casey (Motherwell)

A goal, an assist and a fine defensive performance from the centre-back all contributed to Motherwell winning their second successive match with a 2-1 triumph at St Johnstone.

DEF - Kerr Young (Bonnyrigg Rose)

Bonnyrigg got their second win of the William Hill League 2 season after defeating Stranraer 2-0 at New Dundas Park. Young put in a solid defensive performance, helping to earn the clean sheet, while also grabbing the opening goal.

DEF - Reis Peggie (East Fife)

You know someone has played well when two team-mates have each scored a brace but it's them coming away with their club's Man of the Match award. That honour was bestowed on Peggie this past week after East Fife thumped William Hill League 2 rivals Clyde 5-1 with both Nathan Austin and Alan Trouten scoring twice.

MID - Blair Alston (Stenhousemuir)

This week's Star Man comes from William Hill League 1 as Stenhousemuir kept up their excellent start to life in the third tier, thumping Annan Athletic 5-1 at Ochilview. Alston bagged himself a second-half hat-trick in the win, scoring all three of his goals in a seven-minute period.

MID - Stuart Bannignan (Partick Thistle)

Bannigan was brought back into the Thistle midfield this past William Hill Championship weekend and made a big impact as Kris Doolan's men defeated Queen's Park 3-0 at Firhill.

MID - Dylan Tait (Falkirk)

Tait's impact was crucial as Falkirk came back from 2-0 down to defeat Greenock Morton 3-2 at Cappielow: winning a penalty for the first, scoring the second and setting up the third as the Bairns made it 42 league games unbeaten.

MID - Will Ferry (Dundee United)

The former Cheltenham Town midfielder kept up his excellent start to the season with a fine performance and assist for the only goal in his side's 1-0 win over Hearts, United's first win at Tynecastle in over a decade.

FWD - Daizen Maeda (Celtic)

Another Old Firm encounter and another goal and top performance from the Japanese international who always seems to rise to the occasion in these matches. He got the scoring started and terrorised his opposing defenders as Celtic defeated Rangers 3-0 at Celtic Park.

FWD - Oli Shaw (Hamilton Accies)

Accies looked on course for all three points after Shaw's double gave them a 2-0 lead before a late Airdrieonians recovery saw the match end 2-2. Shaw has started the campaign well with three league goals to his name.
