Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his William Hill SPFL XI...

GK – Darren Jamieson (Stenhousemuir)

The 2023/24 fourth-tier champions are now joint-top of William Hill League 1 after defeating Kelty Hearts 2-1 this past weekend. They were able to do so thanks to the continued penalty heroics of goalkeeper Jamieson, who repelled Ross Cunningham's 94th-minute spot-kick to secure all three points.

DEF – Dylan Watret (Ayr United)

An excellent breakthrough season continued for the right-back as he scored Ayr United's only goal with a terrific strike in an away victory over Airdrieonians in the William Hill Championship.

DEF – Michael Nottingham (Livingston)

A 95th-minute winner, tied to a good performance in a season full of them, from the centre-back helped Livingston to keep pace with Falkirk at the top of the William Hill Championship as they came from behind to defeat Raith Rovers.

DEF – Tommy Muir (Annan Athletic)

Annan Athletic won themselves local bragging rights and consigned Queen of the South to a third successive defeat with a 1-0 win at Galabank. Muir impressed at the back for the home side.

DEF – Alex Valle (Celtic)

Another Team of the Week spot for the Celtic summer signing, who is fast becoming a favourite with the club's support. He provided an assist and was a consistent threat down the left as the reigning champions defeated Motherwell 3-0 in the William Hill Premiership.

MID – James Hilton (Dumbarton)

Dumbarton moved 15 points clear of Inverness CT at the bottom of William Hill League 1 thanks to a 3-1 victory at the Rock this past weekend. Hilton netted twice in the victory, his side's second in succession.

MID – Jason Holt (St Johnstone)

A superb performance from the experienced midfielder helped St Johnstone to control much of their away trip to local rivals Dundee, which they eventually won 2-1 with a Nicky Clark goal coming in the 90th minute.

MID – Noah Chilvers (Ross County)

The midfielder's aggressive attacking play was crucial to Ross County coming from behind to defeat Kilmarnock 2-1 in Dingwall. He won the foul which saw Liam Donnelly sent off for the visitors and played a part in both goals as County claimed three points at home.

MID – Shayden Morris (Aberdeen)

Introduced as a half-time sub, Morris was instrumental in taking Aberdeen's play up a notch as he constantly ran at the Dundee United defence during Saturday night's match at Pittodrie, which the home side won 1-0.

FWD – Oli Shaw (Hamilton Accies)

This week's star man comes from the match at New Douglas Park as Shaw broke the stalemate and netted a seven-minute hat-trick late in the contest to move Hamilton up to sixth in the second-tier at the expense of Greenock Morton.

FWD – Mitch Megginson (Cove Rangers)

A goal and an assist from the veteran striker saw Cove Rangers defeat Montrose 2-0 away from home to move to the top of the William Hill League 1 table. The goal was Megginson's 100th in the Scottish leagues.
