Team of the Week

Craig Fowler from A View from the Terrace names his SPFL XI..

GK – Jon McCracken (Dundee)

The goalkeeper put in a stellar performance in Dundee's 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock. The hosts were well on top in the second period, but they struggled to get beyond McCracken in goal as he saved from Bobby Wales in injury-time to protect one point for his side.

DEF – James Tavernier (Rangers)

The Rangers captain was brought back into the starting XI and came up with a big performance. It was his presence which caused Jason Holt to put the ball into his own net as Rangers won 1-0 at St Johnstone.

DEF – Declan Gallagher (Dundee United)

Gallagher was dominant at the back as United defeated St Mirren 2-0 at Tannadice to strengthen their grip on a top-four place in the William Hill Premiership.

DEF – Joe Wright (Kilmarnock)

A strong defensive showing from the Kilmarnock centre back, who alongside Lewis Mayo helped Derek McInnes' men take control of the second 45 at Rugby Park.

MID – Ryan Sargent (Elgin City)

Elgin claimed a Scottish Cup scalp with a 3-2 victory over second-tier Kelty Hearts. Sargent was a big reason for that with two goals in the contest, including a second-half strike which would ultimately prove to be the winning goal.

MID – Luke McCowan (Celtic)

One goal and three assists for the Celtic midfielder ensured the league leaders produced a five-star showing against Ross County in Glasgow. His display also earns the midfielder the Star Man crown in this week's side.

MID – Nector Triantis (Hibs)

Hibs moved off the foot of the William Hill Premiership table thanks to a 3-0 thrashing of Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday. Triantis was excellent in the centre of the park, including keeping Lennon Miller quiet for the hosts.

MID – Cammy Devlin (Hearts)

Hearts may have replaced their city rivals in 12th spot in the top flight but they demonstrated plenty of heart as they came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Aberdeen. Devlin's industrious performance in the centre of the park typified the home team's approach.

MID – Euan O’Reilly (Stenhousemuir)

Stenny cruised into the fourth round of the Scottish Cup with a 5-0 away hammering of Irvine Meadow. O'Reilly managed to score a hat-trick in the tie.

FWD – Michael Ruth (Dumbarton)

Dumbarton booked their place in the next round of the Scottish Cup thanks to a goal and assist from Ruth in their 3-2 win over Alloa Athletic.

FWD – Kane Hester (Montrose)

Kane Hester was at the double as the Mighty Mo fought to defeat Peterhead 3-2 in the Scottish Cup.
