Partick Thistle boss Alan Archibald has signed Belgian defender Frederic Frans until January.
The 25-year-old had been without a club since leaving Lierse in the summer but could be in the squad for Saturday's Premiership game against Dundee United at Tannadice.
Archibald told the club website: "It's great to get Freddie on board and it gives us some extra strength and depth in an area where we were probably still a bit light.
"He came in to train with us and spent about 10 days with the squad. He did well and impressed in a closed-doors game on Friday so hopefully he'll bring something a bit different to the squad.
"He has experience playing in Belgium's top flight so clearly comes with a bit of pedigree. I've said all the time that we are really looking for quality over quantity and Freddie fits in with that."
