Partick Thistle defeated bottom club Queen of the South 1-0 in Friday's cinch Championship game at Palmerston thanks to a 62nd-minute goal from Scott Tiffoney.
The win moves Ian McCall's men six points clear of fifth-placed Raith Rovers and level with third-placed Inverness CT, who play Ayr United on Saturday.
Queens missed a number of good chances and remain six points adrift of Dunfermline Athletic at the foot of the table.
