The League 1 title race will go down to the wire on Saturday with Morton, Forfar and Stranraer all in with a shout of finishing in top spot and getting their hands on the prize!
A helicopter will be on standby to deliver the trophy to the team who ends up on top. Morton and Forfar go into the final-day showdown level on points, but the Cappielow side occupy top spot thanks to a superior goal difference. Stevie Aitken’s Stranraer side are two points behind in third place.
We’ve picked out some of the best goals scored by each of the three title contenders this season. Have a look and see what you think!
Morton’s goal of the season so far has to be Joe McKee’s cracker from their Scottish League Cup tie against Berwick Rangers back in August. With his back to goal, McKee picked up the ball just outside the penalty box and, on the turn, fired a sublime shot into the top right corner. Perfect! Watch our Top 5 Morton goals here:
Stephen Husband scored the pick of the goals for Dick Campbell’s Forfar side against Dunfermline at Station Park back in February. A looping long-range shot from 25 yards which sailed straight into the top right corner! Watch our Top 5 Forfar goals here:
Our favourite Stranraer goal from this season has got to be Willie Gibson’s cracker against Airdrieonians in March. With the match looking destined for a 0-0 draw, Gibson cut in from the left channel, beat a Diamonds defender with some neat skill and then fired a right-footed belter into the top corner. Pick that one out! Watch our Top 5 Stranraer goals here:
